Topic #1: People getting what they are worth if they win. 1st place recognition and such.
Topic #2: Darwin saying that it is a survival of the fittest. The strong will survive.
So in sports now a days there is a push to stop games if they get out of hand in scoring. I know this first hand since the Softball team that I play on has been run ruled plenty of times. Even though that bothers me since I would rather keep playing even if loosing by 32 points what does is this whole thing the young kiddos are being taught. That "everyone is a winner" mentality is. Sorry not everyone wins in sports, life, religion (some do die and go to hell, sorry to tell ya), at work, on the roads and in life in general.
So my silly question is: can you be an atheist and believe in Darwin’s theory and then want everyone to win at the same time?

I agree with you (surprise..I know) but even just the other night I was talking with my small group about this whole idea that we must try to be the BEST at everything we do...it kind of is the same train of thought...by teaching our kids that "everyone is a winner" at "everything" then it gives false impression that they are great at everything. Two points I have: 1) We don't have to win everytime- in fact some of our best learning and growing comes from our failures. 2) We don't have to be "the best" at everything we do...I encourage my students to do "their best" but that is not the same as being the best. So them's my thoughts on the subject...
Yes Toby, they are called Socialists/Communists. they are living by their own theory. There is no god, people get ahead by screwing the little people (Capitalists), so they believe they must interfere with nature and ensure an equal outcome, they all are winners. Of what, usually nohing, but none is better than the other. Except for those who are are more equal than others (G.O.). The thing is a scam and a sham just ask anyone from china or the former soviet states. We are riding that train while high on ...
I suspect it also has to do with not wanting to hurt anybodies feelings as well, could be we are all equal , we all stink, yeah!
You know, I wrote a big long response to this yesterday and I guess it didn't go through (or maybe it was too controversial? :P).
Anyway, not all athiests are evolutionists and not all evolutionists are athiests.
I don't want to retype everything else I wrote. :)
